E.L.L.E is smiling through the sadness...

E.L.L.E, the musical project of Naarm music community commentator @ElleOutLoud_, released her latest single, “Fine”, today. This track is a self-made slice of dance pop that blends raw emotional honesty with glittery, high-energy production. As a one-woman powerhouse, E.L.L.E writes, produces, masters and performs every track, carving her own lane in the independent pop scene.

“Fine” is her most vulnerable release to date. It dives headfirst into that strange, suspended state of not being okay but pretending to be- or in her case writing songs about being okay. Lines like “we’ll dance to the beat but I could cry” perfectly encapsulate the emotional duality at the heart of the track.

The production is slick and dance floor-ready, keeping the track fun despite its heavier themes. The chorus is where the song really shines- the beat kicks in, the hook lands and before you realise it, you’ll have listened to it 12 times on repeat. While the vocal delivery in the verses lacks a bit of strength and polish, the energy and heart behind the performance is undeniable.

There’s something deeply refreshing about E.L.L.E’s DIY approach and willingness to show her flaws- vocally, emotionally and artistically. “Fine” might not fit neatly into the mould of mainstream radio pop, but this might be exactly what makes it stand out- its bold, heartfelt and incredibly human. If you’re a fan of Charli XCX, Addison Rae or Dua Lipa, E.L.L.E is an artist to keep your eyes- and ears- on.

It’s always exciting to see local artists creating bold, honest work and E.L.L.E is no exception. Her spirit and emotional depth set her apart, and while “Fine” may not be flawless, it’s a strong step forward for an artist with real vision.
