NEW SONG: Swimming Pool – “Calling”

Say hello to Swimming Pool, the new duo from The Hague that’s diving headfirst into emotional depths with a sound that’s both raw and ethereal. The project was born out of late-night DJ sets in empty garages and has since evolved into something far more intimate and atmospheric. Composed of Klyl Shifroni and Seraina Fässler, the pair blend bowed bass, delicate electronics, and layered vocals to create a sonic world that’s equal parts vulnerable and unpredictable. Even their name, drawn from a photo series of hurricane-ravaged backyard pools, hints at the strange beauty they find in damaged places.

Their debut single “Calling,” out now via Fog & Co., offers a gentle introduction to that world. It’s a quiet, haunting ballad that feels like a whispered conversation at sunrise—fragile, lingering, and deeply felt. Built around bowed bass and minimal electronics, the track balances Klyl’s grounded lo-fi instrumentation with Seraina’s airy, processed vocals. “I hear the sun calling / I think it’s time to make up… / I see the sun is coming in the winter in the window,” she sings, the refrain acting like a soft beacon pulling us toward emotional clarity. With its sparse arrangement and lo-fi warmth, “Calling” leaves space for stillness, perfectly setting the tone for their upcoming debut EP, Line Cuts.
