SHADE: Neverdie
Manchester’s SHADE release Neverdie, an anthem in which the band sum up the immortality of rock n’ roll, referencing some of the most influential tunes of all time, including some of their favourites.
Neverdie was one of the first tracks I heard from SHADE in 2020 and was one of the highlights when first catching them live. It always amazed me how, even though they were a relatively young ‘new’ band they’re loyal following had adopted this anthem as ‘their’ song despite never being ‘officially’ released as a single. A bonafide fan favourite and live staple which always get the crowd singing along.…
Singer and producer Luke Owen’s picks up the story, “We wrote Neverdie back in 2016 when we were just 15 years old. Non-stop playing pubs around Manchester obsessed with music paving our way to where we are now. This song started it all,” adding, “We felt it was time that it should no longer be ‘just a demo’”.
Still only in their mid 20’s the lads have released some bangers of the post pandemic era, including Jump Into Heaven, I Can’t Sleep, Could’ve Been, Supercars and my personal favourite Interstellar.
Fresh from playing in Leigh as part of The Lottery Winners album launch events SHADE will be playing as part of the Fringe Festival in Sheffield on 25th July and Cheshire Fest on 2nd August. Their final live engagement of the year promises to be a triumphant homecoming as they play GORILLA in Manchester on 4th October.

A Plea From Louder Than War
Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.
To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
