The Italian producer behind underground smash hit ‘Everything You Have Done’ has returned with Hyper, a supercharged three-track EP that certainly lives up to its name. This is club music at its most adrenalised, built for maximum propulsion.
The title track ‘Hyper’ kicks the door off the hinges. The track eschews any slow builds or easing in, launching full-throttle from the jump. A hulking, wobbling bassline powers it forward, flanked by laser-focused percussion and synths that twist like forked lightning. The track is dark, driving, and engineered for packed warehouses at 2AM – precisely the kind of melodic techno that has made GENESI a go-to name in the scene. No wonder ‘Hyper’ is already doing the rounds with Dom Dolla, John Summit, and ANYMA.
Next up, ‘Capri’ does not let the momentum dip. It’s still completely filthy, but has a certain lightness to it that contrasts with the darkness of ‘Hyper’. There’s a hint of ‘I Feel Love’’s arpeggiators, but that quickly unspools into mind-melting acid-drenched synth play. A punchy vocal hook and irresistible hi-hats hearken to old-school sounds of house – a timelessness sandwiched between the razor-sharp modernity of the neighbouring two tracks.

Closing track ‘Right Now’ sinks deeper. Here, GENESI leans into mood and atmosphere: pulsing, dark basslines, serrated synth stabs, chanting vocal hooks, cavernous reverb, and a melancholic undertow perfect for those moments when the night starts to blur into morning. This track is introspective without being indulgent, closing the EP on a note that lingers.
With each track, GENESI proves he can hit the gas, lift the mood, and pull it all back again with precision. As his ascent continues, this EP feels like a milestone moment showcasing a rare big room sound that also possesses an underground soul.
