Michigan-based band Racing Mount Pleasant previously released an album as Kingfisher, Grip Your First, I’m Heaven Bound, in 2022, but they’re releasing their eponymous debut LP under their current moniker on August 15 via R&R. They’ve also shared a new single, “Your New Place,” a sprawling chamber pop track with lush instrumentation building over its seven-and-a-half minutes. Hear it below.
The band opened for Cameron Winter in Chicago earlier this year, and they’ll be on tour supporting his band Geese in the fall. See all dates below.
