Currently on a stacked run of international festivals — Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Governor’s Ball, Fuji Rock — Royel Otis are heading home. The Sydney duo have just announced their biggest Australian shows to date, with the meet me in the car tour hitting arenas this October in support of their upcoming second album hickey (out August 22).
The band have been on a winning streak since the release of their debut LP PRATTS & PAIN last year, dropping “Adored” and “Fried Rice”, and going viral with their Like A Version cover of “Murder on the Dancefloor” — which hit #2 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 and lit up Spotify across the US and UK.
It’s been a whirlwind since: with their cover of The Cranberries “Linger” dominating TikTok, four ARIA Awards and a sold-out global tour. Now they’re back with hickey — promising to be as sharp as it is lovesick, a record that’s “naughty and romantic all at once.” The new single “car” has already stepped out as BBC Radio 1’s “Hottest Record”. We’re expecting big choruses, thrashing jangly guitars, and the kind of special chaotic joy that is Royel Otis.
Presale has kicked off with general tickets on sale Monday 14 July. All ticket and date info can be found HERE.
